A Story That's Yet To Begin. Today Talavera, tomorrow.......probably still Talavera.
The Melancholic Folk Collective was born out of a group of individuals who came together to play for fun in Glasgow, Scotland in 2015. We got the bug and started to play, rehearse and record. A fuller explanation is in the blog page. Now living in Spain, I enlisted some new music people to carry forward the banner of the Collective here in Talavera de la Reina. Currently there is one album available on all platforms, but I have at least two in demo form which need mastered. Now the task is to recruit full time guitar geniuses to make me sound better and take my songs to the masses, or tens, whatever turns up.Oh, I forgot to tell you, I'm not young and I'm not cool. I offer not perfection, but spontaneity, three takes and go with it. Thank you, and I'll keep the updates coming. Hi, haven't updated here for a while, so I'll just let you know how things have progressed here in Spain. The Collective is no longer a band as such, more of a duet these days with guests recruited as and when necessary. After the critical acclaim of the last album "Welcome To Melancholia", sadly however, no sales to write home about, we have now started work on the follow up "Virtual Travelogue".I have kept a blog on the progress of our recording sessions on, funnily enough, the Blog section of this wonderful website, which continues to attract, maybe not tumbleweed, but muchos muchos cobwebs. Plans are still afoot for a live concert in the near future here in Talavera, probably after completion of this project, so if you are local, of any age, and better than me on guitar, which isn't difficult, why not get in touch and we can jam, and maybe put together a gigging band. I'd love to bring my Godlike genius to the masses (10s) and hopefully that will be a reality soon. Please feel free to check out The Melancholic Folk Collective on Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Apple, iTunes etc, you may actually like what you hear.Thank you for taking the time to read this short piece of info.
